How
do I set up extra credit? |
| |
When
creating an assignment, the computer
will prompt you asking if this is a “graded
assignment” and if it is an “extra
credit” assignment simply check-off
the corresponding box. When a student
turns in extra credit, enter the score
for this assignment. The points will
count towards their grades; however,
the computer will not average the extra
credit automatically into the final
grade. This is to provide the teacher
added control in weighing the extra credit
work

How do I record letter grades instead
of numerical scores? |
| |
Spiral

rather than numerical scores when
selected for any assignment, homework,
or exam. To use this function, locate the
scoring type field, located in the first
screen of posting new grades, and simply
select the appropriate grading scale.

|
|
How
often can we expect grades to be updated? |
| |
There
are many factors that determine how soon
a teacher can assess and return assignments.
Essays and research papers take longer
to grade than a quiz. Coaching, club
sponsorships, and family commitments
can also affect turnaround time, as well
as a teacher's student load. All teachers
do their best to grade their students
and communicate their progress in a timely
manner.
|
|
|
Do
all teachers use the same grading scales? |
| |
No.
Grading scales vary among teachers and
among classes. An average of 62% might
earn a grade of D- for some teachers
or a grade of F for other teachers. All
teachers share their grading scales as
well as other class policy information
with their students at the beginning
of each course.
