Security is of paramount
importance to the innovators of Spiral Systems.
We also know that security and privacy tops
every parent’s concern list and realize
that administrators and faculty use our system
to import and export confidential information.
As a result, the system was engineered to
withstand the most sophisticated attempts
to interrupt data transmission and an array
of security features have been designed and
implemented for premium protection of all
personal data.
Using the most advanced security available,
including military-level encryption and the
same security features that the world’s
leading banks use to protect their client’s
information and financial transactions, we
have created a security system that provides
peace of mind as well as privacy and safety.
When you access your account online, we use
128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption
technology—the most widely used method
of securing internet activity available today.
The entire system uses 128-bit encryption using Secure
Socket Layer (SSL), Secure Socket Layer is a protocol developed
by Netscape for transmitting private documents via the
Internet. SSL works by using a public key to encrypt data
that is transferred over the SSL connection. The worlds
leading search engines and websites support this method
for transferring their most sensitive data. SSL also verifies
the identity of the requesting user and then verifies that
the user has the authority to make that request. It also
provides the location (e.g. city, state, country) of the
user so that any unauthorized requests can be tracked to
the source.
MD5 Encryption is a way of encoding
information using a mathematical
formula or “hash” that
gives an irreversible and unique
code. Passwords are stored in databases
for use with web pages and are
always encoded for added security.
All passwords
are protected on our system using
this advanced technology.
RC4 is used for file and data encryption; it is also used
for secure communications, as in the encryption of traffic
to and from secure web sites using the Secure Socket
Layer protocol. The RC4 encryption algorithm is a stream
cipher, which can use variable length keys with byte-oriented
operations. All information transferred through the system
is protected using RC 4 encryption. This includes all
contact details transferred through the database including,
but not limited to, names, addresses, phone numbers,
and E-mail addresses.
