Together with the administrators, we create
customized user profiles and define levels
of permissions for the entire school. This
gives your school the authority to restrict
what a user can access, and the extent
of what they can do, while logged in. All
users are assigned a unique username and
password, and have the ability to change
their password as often as they wish. We
seek to ensure, beyond any doubt, that
the important information you trust Spiral
Systems to store is kept confidential,
and is only viewed and accessed by the
people whom you have specifically chosen.
This means you have complete control over
who can view, modify, or add information
to the database. In addition, you can limit
access to select information within your
database through field-level permissions.
Content Filtering
A ‘content filter’ is software or a hardware/software
combination that blocks unwanted Internet content.
Our content filtering tools, provided to your school
at no additional cost, monitor, and filter explicit
terminology used throughout our communicative system
features such as chat, messaging, and e-mail. The software
is integrated so that the content in these windows
are compared against a “banned-words” list
to determine if the content is inappropriate. This
is one of our most pragmatic tools as it ensures dignity
and professionalism are maintained at all times, and
that students are never able to take advantage of our
system for base purposes.
Three click rule
The so-called "Three-Click Rule", which states
that users should ideally be able to reach their intended
destination within three mouse clicks, is one of our
core beliefs. Our system navigation was designed in
conformity with this rule because ease of use and simplicity
of access is an ideal that we aspire to, and therefore
all benefits and features can be accessed within three
clicks.
